Predictors of Academic Achievement at Different Levels of Socioeconomic Status

Success is a concept that desired by everyone. In the Turkish education system, Anatolian high schools are considered one of most prestigious which accept students via national central exams. The purpose this study to reveal indicators explaining placement into schools, an important sign success, in socioeconomically different regions. Logistic regression analyses were used as prediction design. Data was collected from 1049 10th grade school Istanbul. According findings, affecting probability studying differ between low life quality indexed region (LLQR) and (HLQR). LLQR GPA, gender, number people household, mother’s monetary contribution found significant indicators. HLQR father’s income level These results discussed using main theories educational sociology.
